Trail of Bits is hiring a hands-on leader for its Application Security practice, managing 12 security engineers who conduct code audits, vulnerability research, secure design reviews, and protocol-level research. The role combines technical leadership, client delivery, practice P&L ownership, staffing, recruiting, engineer development, tooling and methodology direction, and adoption of AI-assisted security workflows. It requires 10+ years of security experience, recent hands-on source-code security work, leadership of 8+ engineers with financial accountability, proficiency in at least four specified programming languages, consulting profitability and staffing experience, community contributions, and AI coding or analysis tool experience. The position is full-time, remote-first, and offers a U.S. base salary of $250,000-$300,000 plus benefits and bonus potential.
