Description

Synopsys is hiring a Senior Applications Engineer, Fusion Compiler in Penang, Malaysia, to support semiconductor customers through physical design implementation and design closure. The role focuses on debugging advanced-node timing, power, congestion, routing, and implementation issues; providing guidance on synthesis, place-and-route, and signoff; building Python, Perl, and TCL automation; and using AI-assisted workflows. Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Required Previous Experiences: 5–8 years of hands-on ASIC, physical design, implementation, or CAD engineering experience
Direct experience with RTL-to-GDS implementation flows, including synthesis, place-and-route, timing closure, and physical design optimization
Strong working knowledge of Fusion Compiler, ICC2, or equivalent digital implementation tools
Proficiency in Python, Perl, and TCL scripting for design automation
Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of Formality, Formality ECO, PrimeTime, or related EDA tools
Experience with advanced process nodes of 7nm and below, including design closure challenges
