Description
Etched is hiring an AI Hardware Design Engineer to build and operate autonomous AI agents that convert electrical and mechanical design requirements into verified, manufacturable hardware designs. The role develops workflows across CAD, EDA, simulation, component selection, PCB layout, mechanical assemblies, thermal analysis, and manufacturing; integrates engineering tools; evaluates and improves agent performance; curates design datasets; and deploys models across the design loop. Candidates should have experience with LLM-based agents, Python software engineering, and electrical or mechanical engineering, with hardware fabrication and testing experience preferred. The position is fully in-person in San Jose and offers a base salary of $150,000–$250,000 plus significant equity.
