Microsoft is hiring an AI Engineer for its Applied AI Research team within Microsoft Purview. The role focuses on designing, building, deploying, monitoring, and improving AI systems that host machine learning models, provide APIs, manage state and memory, and complete multi-step workflows. Responsibilities include the full ML/DL development lifecycle, evaluation and quality metrics, debugging, runtime optimization, and collaboration with product and domain stakeholders. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field, at least five years of experience building and maintaining ML/AI systems, extensive MLOps and cloud experience, strong Python and C# engineering experience, and experience with LLMs and open-source generative AI frameworks.
