Description
The Applied Physicist will join the ATLAS Group at CERN to lead electronics integration and support the installation, commissioning, testing, and debugging of RPC detectors for the ATLAS muon spectrometer upgrade. The role involves validating front-end and low-voltage boards, coordinating QA/QC, integrating electronics into chambers, debugging problematic detectors, and acting as the main contact with Technical Coordination during installation. Candidates need strong experience with gaseous-detector electronics and commissioning, knowledge of gas-detector physics, a PhD or equivalent relevant experience, and the ability to work in radiation areas and underground installations.
