Amazon is hiring an Applied Scientist to design, build, and deploy machine learning and artificial intelligence models for its decision intelligence platform. The role combines causal inference, root-cause analysis, dose-response modeling, time-series forecasting, anomaly detection, confidence calibration, outcome attribution, LLM prompting, RAG systems, evaluation, and production experimentation. Candidates need at least three years of business-application machine learning experience, a relevant PhD or a master's degree plus four years of applied science experience, expertise in at least two of the listed quantitative areas, Python and ML-framework proficiency, production deployment experience, and a publication or equivalent research record. The position is based in Seattle, Washington, with a base salary of $167,100 to $226,100 annually.
