Amazon is hiring an Applied Scientist to develop and deploy computer vision and machine learning models for workplace safety across its global operations. The role involves designing models for activity recognition, anomaly detection, pose estimation, object detection, and risk prediction; training them on video, image, and sensor data; collaborating with software engineers to optimize inference latency, accuracy, and reliability in edge and cloud environments; analyzing operational data for safety risks; and communicating technical findings. The position requires at least three years of business-model-building experience, a PhD or a master's degree with four or more years of relevant experience, publication or patent experience, programming experience, and experience with algorithms, data structures, optimization, data mining, parallel computing, or high-performance computing.
