BAE Systems is hiring an Appointed Person – Lifting Operations for a fully on-site role at Portsmouth Naval Base. The position supports planned and reactive maintenance, repair, and manufacturing projects for Ministry of Defence and other military and commercial customers, including preparing lifting plans, providing technical advice, ensuring equipment and plant are safe and compliant with LOLER, PUWER, BS7121, SSOW, and other site rules, and completing risk assessments and pre-use check sheets. Candidates must have completed an AP training course, hold a recognised Appointed Person and Slinging qualification, and have practical and theoretical knowledge of lifting operations; the role is open to BAE Systems employees who have been in their current role for at least 12 months, with a referral scheme of £1,000 and a closing date of 2 October 2026.
