Description

The Water Department is hiring an apprentice to gain hands-on experience maintaining, repairing, installing, and servicing water and wastewater infrastructure. The role works in crews installing taps, fire hydrants, meters, and appurtenances; repairing broken mains; cleaning wastewater mains; flagging traffic; stocking and maintaining equipment; and performing related duties. The apprentice receives on-the-job training, may advance through the program, and works under a Foreperson or experienced Operator. A high school diploma or GED, Georgia driver’s license, flagging certification, trenching and shoring certification, and rotating on-call availability are preferred or required qualifications.
