Description
The Aquatics Instructor delivers swim instruction, promotes water safety, supports daily pool operations, and assists with youth aquatic training and certification courses at the Lanza Activities Center. The role focuses on safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate programming for youth and families, while collaborating across departments to support recreation and family initiatives. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, CPR, First Aid, swim-teaching or aquatic-environment experience, Water Safety Instructor certification or completion within six months of hire, and a valid New York State driver’s license; an associate or bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Physical Education, or a related field is preferred.
