Description
The Archaeological Technician provides field and laboratory support for cultural resource management projects across Florida and the southeastern United States. Responsibilities include archaeological surveys, evaluations, data recovery excavations, construction monitoring, site documentation, artifact processing, data collection, quality control, and report preparation. The role requires extensive outdoor travel, physical labor in varied terrain and weather, and work under the supervision of senior archaeological staff. A bachelor’s degree in archaeology, anthropology, or a related field, archaeological field-school training or equivalent experience, and familiarity with cultural resource management and historic preservation regulations are required; prior Florida or southeastern United States field experience, Section 106 compliance experience, GIS and GPS experience, and OSHA certifications are preferred.
