The Alabama School for the Blind, part of the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, is hiring a Residential Advisor to provide front-line residential care, supervision, mentoring, life-skills instruction, medication support, crisis response, and administrative reporting for students. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of work experience, with preferred qualifications including a bachelor’s degree, disability-services experience, and a commercial driver’s license with school bus endorsement. The position requires flexible day, evening, and weekend scheduling, physical work including lifting up to 50 pounds, and completion of safety, behavior management, blindness and low-vision, orientation and mobility, and Braille training.
