Description
The Mechanical Assembly and Disassembly Technician assembles, fits, repairs, and rebuilds metal-forming and steel-industry machines and equipment using blueprints, manuals, engineering documents, hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment. The role includes inspecting parts, aligning components, installing moving parts and auxiliary systems, testing completed assemblies, and working with cranes, drill presses, welders, forklifts, and hydraulic or pneumatic systems. It requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 3–5 years of mechanical assembly and disassembly experience, physical ability to handle heavy equipment, and the ability to interpret assembly prints and shop math. The position is based in a shop environment, requires up to 10% travel, and is scheduled for the first shift from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
