Speak is hiring an Assessment Design Lead to define, validate, and sign off on speaking assessments for its language-learning app, with the Proficiency Test as the immediate focus. The role owns construct definitions, rubrics, item blueprints, validity evidence, fairness across learner populations, and the quality bar for automated scoring, while partnering with Product and ML Engineers. Candidates need at least four years of assessment or psychometric design experience, language-proficiency expertise, knowledge of reliability and validity, quantitative rigor, AI fluency, and comfort working in an ambiguous 0-to-1 environment.
