Macy’s is hiring an Asset Protection Detective to protect company assets, reduce shortages, and maintain a safe retail environment. The role uses surveillance, investigative tools, reporting systems, de-escalation, and partnerships with store teams and law enforcement to identify theft, apprehend shoplifters, recover merchandise, document investigations, and support audits and legal proceedings. The position requires retail or security experience, strong communication and judgment, the ability to work in surveillance areas, and may require a New York State Security Guard License for New York jobs. Full-time colleagues typically work 30 or more hours per week, while part-time colleagues work 12–24 hours per week; schedules include weekend shifts.
