Description
The Assistant Activity Director develops and oversees resident activities in a care facility, tailoring social, spiritual, creative, exercise, and educational programs to residents’ assessed interests and well-being. The role includes planning monthly activity calendars, supervising activity aides and volunteers, assessing resident needs, documenting care plans and MDS reports, coordinating with families and community partners, participating in care and quality meetings, and helping manage the activity budget. A high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years of social or recreational program experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with elderly and medically or emotionally vulnerable residents are required.
