Description
The Assistant Bureau Chief serves as the second-in-command for the Bureau of Utilities, providing executive-level leadership, operational oversight, and strategic support. The role acts on behalf of the Bureau Chief, directs daily operations, leads performance management and process improvement, coordinates with internal and external stakeholders, supports budgeting and compliance, manages contracts, and responds to operational emergencies. The position requires a high school diploma plus twelve years of subprofessional engineering experience or a Maryland Professional Engineer registration, along with knowledge of asset management and the ability to supervise engineering and technical staff.
