Description
The Assistant Chief Juvenile Probation Officer assists in managing and administering the juvenile probation department, including supervising probation officers, reviewing cases and court reports, developing programs, coordinating detention services, conducting audits, and representing the department in juvenile justice matters. The role requires a law enforcement background investigation, availability for overtime, shifts, weekends, holidays, and emergency response, and includes physical duties such as restraining juveniles and using firearms. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, while a combination of education and experience may substitute; minimum five years of related work experience and two years in a supervisory role are preferred. The position also requires a Nevada driver’s license, POST Category I or II certification, Range Master Certification, and CPR-First Aid certification.
