Description
The Assistant Chief Laundry Mechanic supports the Chief Laundry Mechanic in maintaining and repairing commercial laundry equipment, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and plumbing issues, diagnosing failures, repairing components, and maintaining records and inventory. The role may supervise junior mechanics, assist with scheduling and training, and serve as acting lead when the Chief Laundry Mechanic is absent. It requires a high school diploma or GED, 3–7 years of commercial or industrial laundry equipment maintenance experience, mechanical troubleshooting skills, and knowledge of electrical systems, motors, relays, controls, and technical schematics. The position involves varied weekend, evening, and holiday scheduling, potential on-call or emergency response, and physical work in a hot, humid, noisy industrial laundry environment.
