Description
The Assistant Controller will support a nonprofit finance leadership team in Washington, DC, overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, audits, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow. The role includes preparing and reviewing GAAP financial statements, coordinating with external auditors, supervising accounting staff, and supporting reporting to executive leadership and the Board of Directors. It requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, at least five years of progressive accounting experience including leadership, nonprofit accounting experience with an organization earning $40 million or more, and strong knowledge of fund accounting, grant compliance, audits, and financial statements.
