Description
The Salvation Army is hiring an Assistant Cook/Kitchen Helper to support meal preparation, including dietary meals, and maintain efficient food service operations in a kitchen within a ministry or social services facility. The role includes cleaning kitchen equipment, ordering supplies when needed, recordkeeping, incident reporting, and occasionally organizing food services in the absence of the manager and cook. Applicants need high school completion, a six-month cooking course, and up to three months of related or institutional kitchen experience. The position involves frequent standing, food handling, lifting over 50 pounds, working around heat and kitchen hazards, weekends and early mornings, and travel up to 30%.
