Description
The Cook Assistant supports the meals program under the supervision of the Lead Cook or Kitchen Manager by preparing and distributing food, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, supporting inventory and equipment use, maintaining the dining room, coordinating with volunteers and community partners, and reporting food, kitchen, donation, security, and safety issues. The role requires a high school diploma or GED or demonstrated kitchen experience, preferred Serv-Safe training, and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50 pounds. It is scheduled Wednesday through Sunday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with a one-hour unpaid meal break, and requires 35 hours per week.
