Description
The County Legal Advisor provides executive-level legal advice to the County Administration, Board of Commissioners, staff, and various boards and commissions. Responsibilities include rendering legal opinions, preparing court papers and contracts, reviewing ordinances and other legal documents, representing the County in lawsuits and administrative hearings, conducting legal research, analyzing legislation, responding to public communications, investigating complaints, and assisting with compliance and training. The role requires a Juris Doctor degree, Georgia State Bar membership in good standing, annual continuing education, and knowledge of local, state, and federal law applicable to local government.
