Description
The Assistant County Engineer performs professional engineering duties for Dubuque County, including planning, designing, drafting, inspecting, and managing construction and maintenance projects. The role provides direction and engineering supervision to maintenance staff and engineering personnel, prepares project documentation and cost estimates, supports procurement and right-of-way activities, and coordinates with contractors, the public, and state agencies. It requires a related engineering degree or equivalent expertise, professional engineering or surveyor registration or training, an Iowa driver’s license, and the ability to work in varied weather and potentially hazardous conditions.
