Description
The Children and Youth Services Solicitor provides legal representation and counsel for the Children and Youth Services Department across dependency, criminal, civil, custody, support, termination-of-parental-rights, administrative, and appellate proceedings. The role includes case investigation, drafting and litigating filings, preparing witnesses, negotiating with experts and parties, monitoring court orders, advising caseworkers and supervisors, training paralegals and new solicitors, and maintaining compliance with applicable laws and policies. The position requires a Juris Doctorate, admission to the Pennsylvania Bar, three years of experience in social services law, civil rights law, or a related legal field, and physical presence in the office.
