The NYC Department of Environmental Protection’s Bureau of Engineering Design & Construction is hiring an Assistant Civil Engineer for its In-House Design Structural Section in Queens, New York. The role supports capital projects through the design phase by preparing plans, specifications, calculations, proposals, reports, schedules, and change orders; reviewing shop drawings and material approvals; conducting field investigations and site visits; coordinating with engineers and stakeholders; and overseeing outsourced design reviews. The position requires permanent civil service status as an Assistant Civil Engineer or completion of DCAS Civil Service Exam #7006, along with a civil engineering degree and relevant experience.
