Description
The City of Chico is hiring one entry-level Public Works Engineer to perform civil and traffic engineering work supporting capital improvement, land development, street, storm drain, sewer, transportation, and public works projects. The role includes plan preparation and review, civil and traffic studies, cost estimates, field inspections, contractor coordination, Caltrans reporting, and compliance with applicable codes and regulations. It is an entry-level professional engineering position under general supervision, covered by the United Public Employees of California labor group, and requires a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field plus one year of professional civil engineering experience or two years of equivalent Engineering Technician experience, along with a valid California driver license.
