The City of Torrance is recruiting an Assistant Engineer for its Engineering Services Division within the Community Development Department. The role performs professional-level civil engineering work on municipal utilities and street improvements, including reviewing and approving plans, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, contracts, legal descriptions, and maps; investigating complaints; preparing reports for City Council and commissions; and coordinating with city departments, agencies, and utility companies. Qualifying candidates may have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering with one to two years of professional engineering office experience, or a valid Engineer-in-Training certificate with four years of responsible engineering experience; CAD experience is desired.
