Description
The Assistant Environmentalist provides technical assistance and customer service at the Carver County Environmental Center, with a focus on solid waste and hazardous waste programs. Duties include managing waste streams, supporting organics diversion, household hazardous waste and special waste collection, investigating waste complaints, conducting SSTS inspections, and supporting industrial waste compliance and other environmental programs. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, a satisfactory driving record, and a vehicle available for work; candidates should have post-secondary education in a related field. The position spends approximately 75% of its time at the Environmental Center and includes mileage reimbursement.
