Description
The Assistant General Counsel will lead CFC’s legal and compliance function for its Canadian business, reporting to the Legal Director in London and with a dotted line to the CEO of CFC Canada. The role advises on insurance regulation, licensing, corporate, commercial, operational, data privacy, AI regulation, and employment matters; manages Canadian licensing frameworks and regulatory engagement; reviews and negotiates supplier contracts and commercial agreements; maintains legal templates; and supports M&A, acquisitions, cross-border projects, and dispute management. The position requires a Canadian-qualified lawyer with at least 10 years of relevant experience, extensive in-house insurance experience, knowledge of Canadian insurance regulation and MGAs, and the ability to lead a Canadian legal and compliance team.
