Wabtec is hiring an Assistant Operator for its Rail Flaw Detection team to operate and maintain rail inspection vehicles while supporting rail flaw detection activities. The role involves driving inspection vehicles on road and rail, assisting the Chief Operator, marking defective rails, maintaining the ultrasonic testing carriage and vehicle, completing driver and vehicle documentation, and performing light mechanical repairs. It requires a high school diploma or GED, professional driver experience is preferred, knowledge of larger trucks and basic mechanical skills, computer skills, and willingness to travel extensively within the continental United States. The position begins at $22 per hour and requires physical work in all weather conditions, including lifting up to 50 pounds and using personal protective equipment.
