The University of Hawai‘i at Manoa is hiring a full-time, permanent, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Marine Biology for its School of Life Sciences at Manoa Campus. The role focuses on integrative ecological or evolutionary research of marine populations, communities, and ecosystems, with particular interest in biocultural frameworks involving Hawaiian species and field-based teaching. Responsibilities include developing an externally funded research program, mentoring students, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, and serving on academic and community committees. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree, have marine biology or related research experience, and demonstrate research excellence; postdoctoral experience, external funding, teaching experience, field-course experience, bio-cultural research, and Hawaii-based research are desirable.
