Description
The Assistant Teacher supports a preschool classroom under the guidance of a Head Teacher and supervision of a Child Development Director or Childcare Coordinator. Responsibilities include daily classroom supervision, outdoor play, curriculum support, child assessment, attendance and lunch counts, emergency drills, documentation, food-handling and sanitation procedures, and maintaining a safe, inclusive environment. The role works 7 a.m.–9 a.m. and 3 p.m.–6 p.m., requires knowledge of early childhood education and Connecticut standards, and may involve working with children who have communicable diseases or disabilities.
