Markel is hiring an Assistant Underwriter for its Renewal Connect team in Leeds on a hybrid basis, working three days in the office and two days from home. The role manages high-volume commercial insurance renewals and mid-term adjustments, makes underwriting decisions within authority limits, supports brokers, reviews risks, negotiates terms, retains business, and manages workflow queues. Candidates need commercial insurance experience, at least six months of underwriting or relevant insurance experience, strong organisational and communication skills, accuracy, and Microsoft Office proficiency; Acturis, renewals, charity or social welfare exposure, and CII qualification progress are desirable.
