Description
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory is hiring an Associate Criticality Safety Engineer in its Environment, Safety, and Health Directorate to support the design, development, testing, and criticality safety evaluation of nuclear equipment and systems involving fissionable materials. The role includes walk-through inspections, safety-document reviews, technical assignments, data analysis, calculations, training, and travel to Nevada National Security Sites. It requires an active DOE Q-level or Top Secret clearance, a bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience, and experience with nuclear facilities, reactor kinetics, radiation transport, and criticality safety. The position offers a hybrid schedule, is a flexible term appointment of up to six years, and pays $121,830 to $154,500 annually.
