Description

Axios is hiring an Associate Director of Production to manage the technical execution, budget management, vendor oversight, and production quality of large-scale in-person and virtual events. The role serves as a technical lead and stage manager, oversees A/V systems, livestreaming, recording, rehearsals, and post-production editing, manages production budgets and staffing, coordinates with editorial and creative teams, mentors associates and contractors, and supports production innovation. Candidates need 5–7 years of high-volume event production experience, strong A/V and budget-management expertise, vendor-management experience, and Adobe Premiere Pro proficiency. The role is remote-optional and offers a starting salary of $98,000–$130,000.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 5–7 years of high-volume event production experience, including technical design, A/V execution, and budget management
Experience managing production budgets line by line, including vendor estimates, purchase orders, and invoice reconciliation
Experience building and managing relationships with A/V and production vendors, including onsite teams
Experience managing open-press or public-facing events under tight timelines
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with After Effects and Photoshop
Familiarity with project management software such as Wrike or Airtable
