Vector Atomic is hiring an onsite Associate Firmware Engineer in Pleasanton, California, for an early-career role developing embedded firmware and real-time control systems for quantum sensing instruments. The position involves programming ST microcontrollers and custom ASIC-integrated MCUs, implementing control algorithms, developing peripheral drivers from schematics, supporting hardware bring-up and board testing, and collaborating through code reviews and engineering documentation. Candidates need a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science, production-quality C/C++, embedded firmware and RTOS or bare-metal experience, scripting, laboratory test equipment experience, and strong debugging skills. Preferred experience includes PID and digital control, fixed-point arithmetic, communication protocols, assembly, lwIP, and SoC or FPGA devices.
