AbbVie is hiring an in-house Associate General Counsel for its Patent Prosecution group within the Intellectual Property, Transactions, and Innovation legal team. The role develops and implements intellectual property strategies for pharmaceutical products and product candidates, particularly in neuroscience; advises R&D and business teams; drafts, files, and prosecutes patent applications; challenges and defends patents in post-grant proceedings; and conducts prior art searches, patent-position analysis, and due diligence. The position is based in North Chicago, Waltham, South San Francisco, or Irvine with a hybrid model requiring at least three days per week onsite, and requires a JD, state bar admission, and USPTO registration, along with 8+ years of patent-law experience.
