Description
The Associate Medical Director, Physician Advisor provides clinical oversight and guidance for utilization management, medical necessity, CMS compliance, documentation, patient status, length of stay, and resource utilization. The role reviews medical records, supports Medicare and payer reviews, participates in Utilization Review Committee activities, manages peer-to-peer discussions, and collaborates with physicians, hospital leadership, and payers. It requires an MD/DO/MBBS physician, a California medical license, at least three years of clinical practice experience, and may be filled full-time or part-time with a minimum 0.5 FTE commitment. The position is based in Los Angeles and offers total cash compensation of $250,000–$410,000.
