Description

HDR is hiring an Associate Power Engineer / Associate Electrical Engineer in Glasgow, United Kingdom, to lead high-voltage substation and switchyard engineering projects for utilities and technology-sector clients. The role covers project and package delivery, technical scopes, concept-to-detailed design, multidisciplinary coordination, quality assurance, client relationships, business development, team leadership, budget and variation management, safety, and compliance with CDM, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards. Applicants need a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, at least eight years of relevant technical design experience on projects up to 765kV, and expertise in power system studies, protection systems, earthing, and applicable engineering standards.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.

Experience with power system studies using DigSILENT, IPSA, ETAP, or similar software.
Experience leading electrical design through all project stages and coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications: Chartered Engineer status.
