Description
The Associate Robotics Engineer will support a senior robotics engineer in redesigning drill-floor equipment for hands-free and automated pipe handling, researching robotic hardware and software, developing path-planning and collision-avoidance algorithms, designing electromechanical and computer-vision systems, and introducing automated solutions to the oil-and-gas drilling industry. The role also includes laboratory testing, safety compliance, equipment testing, and training aftermarket personnel. Candidates need a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant engineering field, 0–2 years of robotics or automation experience, knowledge of robotic hardware and control systems, familiarity with path planning and computer vision, CAD/CAE proficiency, and willingness to work in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
