Description

The National Aquarium is hiring a full-time, on-site Associate Veterinarian to provide clinical and preventative care for its aquatic and terrestrial animal collections, rehabilitate stranded animals, perform diagnostics and necropsies, maintain electronic medical records, and provide 24/7 emergency coverage. The role also supervises and mentors veterinary students and volunteers, oversees animal acquisition and quarantine protocols, supports regulatory compliance, participates in research and welfare committees, and contributes to education and publications. Candidates need a DVM or VMD, at least four years of full-time aquatic or zoological animal medicine experience, a Maryland veterinary license, USDA Category II APHIS certification, and relevant electronic record-keeping and Microsoft Office skills.
