Description
The Adaptive Skills Trainer Specialist provides individualized adaptive skills training and support to adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, implementing instructional and environmental modifications, positive behavior support, community-based activities, self-care assistance, and crisis response. The role reports to the Adaptive Skills Trainer Program Director, requires a relevant bachelor’s degree and either three years of experience with an intellectual or developmental disability population or 40 hours of training within the first nine months, and includes lifting and transferring participants. It is a full-time, non-exempt position paying $31.25 per hour, with medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, long-term disability, paid leave, and a holiday bonus.
