The Athletic Trainer Substitute serves as a replacement for an absent Athletic Trainer in a Hanover County Public Schools high school athletic healthcare team. The role performs injury and illness prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation guidance, on-field assessments, immediate care, referrals, emergency response, athlete education, and facility maintenance, while communicating with administrators, coaches, parents, and medical professionals. The position requires a bachelor’s degree, current Virginia athletic trainer certification, and the ability to perform all regular Athletic Trainer duties; it is scheduled hourly as assigned, varies within the school division, and is temporary.
