Description
The Authorization Coordinator verifies insurance eligibility and contract status, obtains PPO, HMO, chemotherapy, and clinical-trial authorizations, enters requests into EPIC, reviews oncology coding, and supports patients with financial counseling, cost estimates, ABN waivers, and assistance programs. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, two years of recent relevant experience, knowledge of chemotherapy and radiation treatments, medical terminology, communication, basic math, organizational and computer-data-entry skills, and works Monday through Friday with occasional weekends.
