Ginkgo Bioworks is hiring an Automation Engineer 2 to support its Support Applications Engineering team. The role owns Ginkgo’s Autonomous Lab during overnight hours, performs remote recovery and instrument maintenance, leads root-cause investigations, develops deployment playbooks and automation scripts, and maintains documentation and preventive-maintenance programs. It requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, life sciences, or a related technical field plus 4–7 years of relevant experience, with onsite work in Boston five days per week on a 10 PM–6 AM graveyard shift. The base salary is $85,600–$120,200, with medical, dental, vision, and other benefits.
