Excel Engineering is seeking an Automation Engineer for its Life Sciences division in Mounds View, MN. The role involves independently executing projects and working within a team to deliver industrial control and automation solutions to clients in manufacturing processes. Key responsibilities include understanding client processes, developing functional and design specifications, creating PLC programs and HMI applications, performing control system validation, developing project scopes and estimates, configuring VFDs, designing network layouts, and delegating work to team members. The position requires knowledge of PLCs, HMI/SCADA, VFDs, P&IDs, Good Manufacturing Practices, and validation workflows within the pharmaceutical/biotech industries.
