Description
The Aviation Safety Inspector (General Aviation Flight Oversight) applies Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations to develop and implement standards, programs, and procedures for FAA field personnel and the public related to general aviation and air tour operations safety. The role reviews and evaluates technical programs, prepares Federal Register notices, coordinates with aviation and governmental organizations, develops and mentors training courses, and provides technical research and support. It does not involve aircraft certification or serving as a required crewmember or safety pilot. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, meet specified medical and aviation qualifications, and demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13 grade level.
