The Aviation Safety Inspector (General Aviation Rotorcraft-Flight Oversight) serves as a technical expert and advisor in the Air Transportation Division, Operations Branch, AFS220. The role reviews and evaluates aviation regulations, regulatory petitions, exemption analyses, policies, advisory circulars, inspector guidelines, and training standards; coordinates with internal and external aviation stakeholders; and represents the agency in training and national or international working groups. The position requires U.S. citizenship, a high school diploma or equivalent, English fluency, and extensive rotorcraft flight-instruction and pilot qualifications, including at least 1,500 total flight hours and three years of relevant aviation experience.
