Description
The FAA is hiring an Aviation Safety Inspector (ASI) at the FG-13 level in Des Plaines, Illinois. The role independently plans and conducts certification, surveillance, investigation, and compliance activities for complex commercial aviation operations, including aircraft, avionics, maintenance, and novel aviation programs. The ASI provides policy and technical guidance to field-level staff, makes technical determinations, and reports to management. The position requires U.S. citizenship, a high school diploma or equivalent, English fluency, a valid state driver's license, and at least one year of specialized aviation safety experience equivalent to the FV-H/FG-12 level; applicants must also meet the listed medical requirements and may be required to participate in aircraft operations.
